Rene-Paul Savignan

The photographer Rene-Paul Savignan is from Reunion Island, situated to the west of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. He became interested in photography when he managed a one-hour photo lab on the Island, and has since gone on to develop his own photographic projects.

His work has been included in many Festivals and featured in the French magazine Revue Noire. He is collaborating with Andrew Tshabangu on a joint project on black spirituality.

His work looks at the religious groups that pray and sing on the train journey between Soweto and Johannesburg.
