Auction now closed - thanks to all print

2001 Charity Print Auction
During the 2000 exposure festival we ran a Charity Print Auction
for the first time. Everyone seemed to enjoy it - watching the bids
mount on the website over the four weeks of the festival. It was
very successful in both raising money for the festival and also
in making a contribution to the new projects and commissions for
young people for this year.
There are two projects that we have set up for young people - SNAPS
at SNAP (SNAP is a dance night that aims to be free of drink
and drugs) and CRE-8 at exposure
(introducing young people to the creative process and how they can
go about exploring their creativity).
So
this year we are doing it again and to see if there is sufficient
continuing support to make it a regular annual event!
We have had generous donations of prints from many photographers
and hope that you will not only enjoy seeing them as an extra online
gallery, but also that you will be prompted to make your own contribution
to the festival by bidding for one of these great images.
You can see all the original prints at
Tidal Wave Gallery, in Bridge Street in Hereford, during the
festival.
How the Print Auction works
There
are thumbnail images of all the prints on the Auction
Catalogue page - you can see a larger version with the details
of the photographer and print size and type by clicking on the thumbnail.
On each full print image page there is the current latest highest
bid and bidder codename.
You can start bidding by registering
with the Festival Office . You will be emailed back with confirmation
that you bidder codename is unique and you are a registered bidder.
Once you are registered, you will be able to send emails from the
BID button on any print page.
Make sure that your unique bidder codename is included in the email
with each new bid.Bids start at £20 and the next bid available
is shown in the box below the current highest bid. The bid increments
will be the same as any other auction, increasing once the price
goes over £100 or £200.
You can check back here anytime to see the latest highest bid
and the bidder's codename, but please bear in mind that we are only
updating the bids once a day.
There are no commission or other charges payable on top of your
bid.
Unfortunately due to shipping and payment transaction costs on relatively
small amounts, we cannot accept bids from outside the UK at present
.Prints are sold for exhibition and display purposes only. Copyright
remains with the photographer and there are no rights for reproduction
with the prints.
Some of the prints have a reserve price and may therefore remain
unsold if bids do not reach the reserve. There may be some cropping
to produce the scanned images for the website.
Many of these are fine prints and so the scan quality may not fully
reflect the image quality of some prints.
The closing time for the auction is Midnight on Saturday November
18th
Bids timed after 23.59.59 on 17th November will not be valid.
Winners will be confirmed by email after the close. The prints
will be sent post free (within the UK) to the highest bidder at
the end of the auction once payment has been received. Payment must
be made by cheque or draft drawn on a UK bank.( We cannot accept
credit card payment at present. ).
