Kwayie Dwumah Kuffour: Oxfam Country

Oxfam Country - Kwayie Dwumah Kuffour

‘Oxfam Country’, photographs of modern architecture in Ghana built by Ghanaians working in western countries

Exhibited at Herefordshire College of Art and Design Folly Lane - [01432 273359] throughout the month of October 2005.

"My photographs are about modern architecture in Ghana. The images show how space and architecture are represented in a 'third world' country, and they reflect upon issues of ownership. Most of these properties are owned by native Ghanaians working in Western countries. The development of private properties in Ghana is not usually covered in Western media and so I started their documentation - a showcase of the beautification of the city’ and the achievements of Ghanaian economic migrants."
