These images evolved out of Nigel Judge's interest in the margins of our landscape, where our preoccupations of how a landscape chould look are challenged by the ambiguity of th elocation. In this case it is the point at which an urban landscape breaks down, fragmenting into footpaths, parks, riverbanks and wasteland. The small landscapes as used and abused by the culture that surrounds them and, in turn, contain evidence of that culture, marked by those who pass through. It seems they belong to no-one, yet they are always somebody's territory.
