John Blakemore and Richard Sadler have been friends for probably
more time than either of them cares to remember and during this
time Richard has built a collection of John's work. John accuses
him of rifling his darkroom waste bin, but the box of pictures that
Richard created tells a story of the development of one of Britain's
foremost photographers.
In creating this exhibition from Richard's collection, they have
talked about the varying interests and personal issues reflected
in his work. From early portraiture, commercial work and reportage,
to the more recent intense landscape and still life imagery, this
exhibition is like a conversation, touching on points here and there,
some in depth, some in passing.
